Objectives

Students can come to understand the nature, benefits, and practice of Holy Communion.

Given the elements and for Communion, students will become familar with their use by handling them.

Given class discussion, students will know the various practices for recieving Communion (Common Cup, Individual Cups)

Given class discussion, Luther's Small Catechism, and scripture refrences, students will know the beniftis of recieving communion by stating them.

Given class discussion, students will know the setting in which Jesus established Holy Communion by describing the reason of the festival that He was celebrating.

Given Scriptural references, Luther’s Small Catechism, and class discussion, students will know that Christ body and blood is really present in the sacrament of Communion.

Given Scriptural references, Luther’s Small Catechism, and class discussion, students will know the benefits of Communion by stating them.

Given class discussion and scriptural references, students will explain the Lutheran concept of closed communion.
