A Good Story

Would you like to hear a story?  We almost always say “yes”  to this question. We like stories.  We even like to hear the same ones over and over again.  We like stories.  In our families and in our group of friends there are some who are good at telling stories.  We especially like to hear them tell the stories.

We forget some times that the best stories of our lives are the ones that no one tells.  They are the ones that happen to us.  Maybe we will have to wait until we get to heaven to hear what Paul Harvey calls “The rest of the story”, but don’t you think it will be fun to hear?  Maybe then we will get to know why certain things have happened in our lives.  What was God accomplishing in the happy times and the sad times?

I guess what I want to get into my head today is that we can trust that God is able to get things done even on the hard days of life.  And if this is true then we can trust Him all the days of life.  And the best story of all is just this: that God is at work even in our ordinary lives to do His extraordinary works of wonder.  If you want to hear a good story just pay attention to each day of your life.
