What we believe

At Christ Lutheran Church we believe and teach the Bible as the inspired Word of God.

We believe in the triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The basic teaching that defines our church and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod is the good news that Jesus is the Savior of the world. He gave his life on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins and then rose again. Through faith in Jesus we have the gift of forgiveness of our sins and eternal life in heaven. We do not earn any part of this gift. Even the faith we have in Jesus is a gift of God.

On the second and fourth Sunday of the month we celebrate Holy communion. This is reserved for those who are members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, unless special arrangements have been made with Pastor Schemm. In this sacrament we believe we receive the body and blood of Jesus along with the bread and wine in a supernatural and yet real way.

We believe the true Christian Church is made up of believers in Christ from all Christian churches. It is not necessary to be Lutheran to be saved. If you are not Lutheran and would like to join our church it is not necessary to be re-baptized. We do ask that you attend classes that discuss the teachings of our church. Contact the church office to learn more.
